Mr Ross Fox, Director of Catholic Education welcomed over 2,000 participants on 27 January 2017 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra a conference entitled ‘Students Yearn to Learn’ which marked the beginning of the school year in Catholic Education.
The Conference featured internationally recognised speakers including Professor Alfie Kohn,Kath Murdoch, Professor Tom Lowrie and Erin Erceg. The Conference was an outstanding opportunity for professional learning and engagement with our educational vision across the 56 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn.
The Conference theme was Engaging the Hearts and Minds of 21st Century Learners. The purpose of the Conference was to explore wellbeing and learning as opportunities for meaning making, and the role of teaching as facilitating and illuminating meaning through inquiry, collaboration and reflection on experience.
