STEM 2017 Launch at Holy Family Primary School Gowrie

Collaborators from Australian National University and University of Canberra joined students and teachers at Holy Family Primary School for the launch of their STEM program. The universities and teachers work together to develop key learning experiences which become the STEM units that are monitored and measured by the universities for the growth in ‘thinking’ generated by the activities. The amazing team at Holy Family is leading the way and making a wonderful contribution to science education. Dr Chris Browne, Engineering Lecturer from ANU, pictured here with the STEM Club coordinators, said the partnership with Holy Family is two way, where the students benefit from interactions with engineering researchers, and the university learns an enormous amount about how children intuitively problem solve and the tools that they need to bring ideas to life.
