Sts Peter & Paul Garran Celebrate Founders Day

As part of Sts Peter and Paul’s Primary School’s 50th Anniversary this year, the school invites past and present staff, students, parents and community members to attend their Founders Day Celebration on Friday the 7th of September.

There will be an ‘Open School’ from 9.00am – 6.00pm, where current students and staff will be dressing up in 60s attire.The day is outlined as follows:

9.00  50th Unveiling of Anniversary Mural
9.20  Lessons from the past
Classrooms will be transported back to the early days.
10.00 Tabloid sports
A rotation of 12 old fashioned games and sports on the school oval.
11.00 Shared Picnic Lunch
Parents and friends invited to join the children for a picnic lunch. As an extra treat for the children there will be lolly bags, fairy bread and home-made lemonade.
11.40 – 1.10  Trivia contest
Trivia will be delivered over the school PA to classes and will be decade driven, with key historical events of the world and of the school.
1.50 – 3.10  Presentation Concert
An old fashioned assembly with each class preparing a song from each decade. Hosted by an MC and open to the broader community to view. Each decade will be introduced with info about the time and events in the school’s history.  Everyone welcome to sing-a-long.
3.10 – 6.00  Open Afternoon
The school will be open for visitors, with afternoon tea, displays of photos, uniforms memorabilia and school tours.
