Gracie and Tara’s artwork has been used in the design of banners to be displayed in the main streets of Crookwell, Gunning and Taralga during NAIDOC Week 2017 (Sunday, 2 July 2017 to Sunday, 9 July 2017) and subsequent yearly celebrations.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council Mayor Brian McCormack OAM said the Upper Lachlan Shire National Reconciliation Week Art Competition sought to educate our young people about building respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians.
“On behalf of Council and the community I would like to congratulate Gracie and Tara on their winning entry, along with all of the place getters in each category and thank everyone who entered for taking part.”
The Upper Lachlan Shire National Reconciliation Week Art Competition was funded with a $5,000 grant from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet’s National Reconciliation Week 2017 fund.
