Dear Staff, Parents and Students,
I hope you have had a restful break, and a joyful Easter with friends and family.
As the second term of the school year begins I hope that the term ahead presents many opportunities to consolidate the learning of term 1, with an eye on the end of the school year and the learning possible before then.
Catholic Schools in the ACT will shortly begin Catholic Schools Week – running from May 1 to 7. NSW Catholic Schools Week has already passed in term 1.
Catholic Schools Week is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the innovative learning and faith development that occurs in Catholic schools every day. The theme of Catholic Schools week in 2017 is
‘CATHOLIC SCHOOLS: GREAT LEARNING. GREAT COMMUNITIES.’
This is a chance for everyone, not just current parents and families, to witness the vibrant faith and learning environments available today in Catholic Schools and Early Learning Centres. I know that when people visit our schools they will witness our dedicated teachers and staff, children filled with curiosity and brimming with potential, and a supportive and inclusive community. I certainly witnessed this myself in my school visits last term.
Research on how parents choose schools across Australia tells us that word of mouth remains the most important source of information for parents considering which school best meets the needs of their child. Choosing a school is an important decision, and we know that our best ambassadors are our student, families and staff.
Thank you for all that you bring to this term, and I look forward to seeing you in Catholic Schools Week and throughout the term.
